Dog Wigs.

Apparently, my computer is running out of memory. So, I decided to try and clean it up a bit. Before I delete the following pictures, I just had to repost them:

I don't remember where I got them from. But I do know that they make me laugh every time I look at them. :P

School Daze....

So if there ever was a semester of learning, this was/is it. Before I get into the many reasons why I put my blog on the backburner, I must give a shout out to the two people who have inspired me to get my show on the road (meaning this blog thingy). Def check out my peeps over at http://theseransomnotes.blogspot.com/ (I am totally going to post a "talent" video asap) and http://hardlyhearshimself.blogspot.com/. How do I do a pretty link thing? Like with just the words? I dunno, I've got a lot to learn with this blog business. So school. God, where to begin. I feel like a real filmmaker now which feels super awesome. And to make things even more awesome- I met Kevin Smith (aka MY FAVORITE DIRECTOR!!!) and he gave me some words of wisdom- after I asked for an internship of course-

He wrote "GO SHOOT NOW". I literally took those words and ran with it! This semester I will have 6 short films of my own and have crewed on about 20. Take about busy? I am currently the definition of it. But I am doing what I love and it feels so good. So complaining is not on the scheduel... ever. I am taking Directing and Production 2 which at my school are both "production" courses. Meaning- we're not siting around and watching movies to talk about them for an hour. I am out there in the nitty gritty. So, as previously stated, I have a ton of projects. Before I go into sharing trivia about each one, I'll link all my short films so far. Tell me what you think, PLEASE!! I thrive on other peoples reactions to my work. :D

and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD_Sy576KqY

The last one I still have to upload into my own account. Anywho- watch and I hope you enjoy! I am going to have quite a few more posts coming very soon!

Hello blog, life is... well...

SO BUSY!! I pinky promise that I will update you (again) and share all the fun, fun stuff I've been up to. xoxo

Fairy Tales, Fantasy, and Funk.

First off, I love Taylor Swift! I think she's pretty cool, music is sweet and I love the lyrics. So, on to more pressing matters. A photographer that I worked with for a Gothic photo shoot last month has agreed to do another shoot with me next month. Yayyy!! We also happen to have the same vision and style which is even more exciting. We shared some photos that we love and came up with a running theme for the shoot. Here are some of those photos:

Emma Watson is absolutely stunning in these photos. There are also some others that we both love, but I can't post those pictures, so here are the links:
http://www.larajade.co.uk
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sugarock/

I can't even begin to put in words how excited I am to do something like this!! And to work with someone who wants the same look is just such a huge plus!! She also happens to be majorly talented, so I'm also honored to be working with her as well. I have no idea where to begin in styling this shoot. We have a location, but I'm going to keep it a secret till I post the pics. I have a few pieces of clothing that are "fairy tale" like, but I'm going to have to scour thrift store for some funky things. Ahhh!! lol So happy. I can't wait. :D

Rollin With Schwinn And Burnin' Calories

Bike riding is not what I remembered it to be. Last time I went riding (before the last two days) was years. And I believe it was when my age still had the word teen in it. When I lived in Queens, I would ride to Forest Park all the time. I'd ride up this crazy hill and all around the park, barely breaking a sweat. Now....well, you can just imagine. Me and Kane rode out yesterday to give my new bike its first spin. Less than halfway to our destination, Orchard Beach, I was huffing, puffing, and feeling nauseous. Hilarious, I know. But here's the cold facts, a ride from my house to Orchard Beach is 10 miles. I'm sure there's lots of people who can do that in their sleep, but I was just ready to fall apart. If it wasn't for Kane yelling at me to keep going, and singing " Don't Stop Believen' " together, I would have packed in and headed home. We got semi lost and ende up in Pelham Manor, where there were million dollar homes and backyard the size of football fields. (side note: soooo want one of those houses) We finally made it to the beach. I had a pretzel, chugged a gatorade and was good to go.
I'm being really big on the whole biking thing cause I want to lose weight and biking combines alot of things I like: fresh air, the outdoors, traveling, and generally having fun.
My younger sister asked to go with me riding today, and I agreed, provided that she sat through my constant safety briefings. The way to get there (the beach) involves riding along side NYC drivers, and I was uber paranoid to say the least. So we trekked out today and had a blast.

We skinned our knees in the landing of this photo. I haven't skinned my knee in ages. We also happened to skin the same knee which was weird. And my legs and knees also happened to be in great pain from yesterday's ride, so needless to say, landing on them felt like I broke them. But we were rolling laughing afterwards, so its all good.

Making it to the beach is a victory I can't describe. :)
Going home is always tricky cause of all of the loop dee loops in Pelham. But we made it back safe and sound. I'm really addicted to this bike riding business. Especially after all the gadgets I'm buying for my bike. Hello my Hello Kitty rearview mirrorrrrr!!! Thank you Ebay!!

I'm gonna be riding every chance I get. Hopefully I'll see some really cool things and show em to you here. Like......umm......a bald eagle?? We got those in NY right?

Gettin' Lucky In Kentucky

Kentucky. Well, I don't know much about it. I know that they're famous for horses and fried chicken. And that's about it. I'm going to Kentucky (..going to the fair...lol) to visit my biological grandmother. I say biological because I have an abuelita here in NY who is the one that raised my mom and bought me presents every Christmas, among other grandmotherly things: like leaving lipstick marks and my cheeks and saying I love you a hundred times. I've been to Kentucky once before, when I was a kid, like 10 or 11...can't be sure...but, I generally liked it. I remembered it being like that small town stuff you see in movies. But now, well....its definitely going to be a culture shock. I looked up the demographic of the town I'm going to, and its 92% Caucasian!! That is a huge difference from any neighborhood I know of in NYC. Plus, Kentucky is in the "bible belt" meaning.....church. I love Jesus and all, but I'm not big on being big about it. Did that make sense? I mean, the theme park we're going to has a church in it! Can you imagine Six Flags with a church? lol Despite it being totally weird, I love it, and I can't wait for the experience. We're going to Dollywood and I just found out I like her music. Never heard it before I decided to research her. We're also going to do roller skating to Christian music. Never thought I'd see that combination. But, all in all, I think that Kentucky is going to be great. And I'm soooo excited. Especially since my grandmother said we could wear slacks in church!! Oh joy! If there's Internet, I will definitely document each day I'm there, because I'm sure I will have alot to say :P I'm also contemplating bringing a video camera and attempting to make a lil documentary. I think it'd be fun, but may take away from having fun with the family. Dunno what I want to do yet. This is also going to be the first time my 2 year old sister is going to be on an airplane. This trip already promises to be more than interesting.

Summer, a new beginning.

So, I promise you weary eyed readers that I will no longer take after Rainbow Brite and multicolor my postings. I just realized how dumb it looks. January to May. Much, much has happened. My film shoots in class went marvelously. We all worked hard and the outcome totally shows that. When I get $200 to digitize my 16mm short, I will most def provide a link here to it on youtube. Or perhaps I can just put it here. I'm still learning all the tricks of this bloggy thing. Like my new background, you like?? Well, I do. I tried to go for something more girly, but who am I kidding, film is in my blood. So our shoots went great and I got good grades. I'm graduating college next May!! Or should I say, may (no pun intended) graduate. As long as I keep up my grades, I'll be just fine. Recently I was an extra in two films!! One being The Sorcerer's Apprentice and the other a mystery film titled, "Untitled Nancy Meyers Project". Sorcerer's Apprentice was loads of fun, except it was a lil chilly. I wasn't a paid extra. They asked my bf (who was the paid extra) to bring a dog, so he brought our dog Mimzy. As we found out later, she was basically not even needed. However, I tagged along to resuce my Mimzy poo in the case that she became grouchy. So, I basically "snuck" onset, saying that I was the doggy's mommy. Wasn't too hard tho cause they remembered me from holding :P So, on set there was pretty cool and pretty darn pretty. It was a Chinatown parade scene, and let me tell you, Disney goes all out. Here are some pics from that night:

Confetti was being dropped from the buildings. It was just beautiful. I can't wait to see the movie. We were arms length away from Nicholas Cage a few times and it was supercool to see him with his son and wife between takes.
And then theres the Nancy Meyers film which I WAS hired as an extra. Still waiting for that check tho......anywayz, it was alot of fun too. They shot at St. John's University, the day after St. John's graduation- borrowing the huge stage and thousands of chairs. This was way more fun that my previous extra gig cause I was casted as a graduating student, and didnt know that till I got there! Not on any part of mine, they just never told me. So I got a costume AND hair and makeup done!!!! It felt so cool. I've been in a real makeup artist's chair only a handful of times, so each time I try to savor it. XD Shooting went fine until my feet felt like they were going to snap in half. See, I was under the impression that I was a "guest" at the "graduation". So I wore my 4 inch heels and "come hither" dress, hoping to be placed in the front. So basically, neither were needed as a big red gown was covering my dress, and we were walking back and forth, up and down the aisle. So basically, my feet were in excrutiating pain. But thank God I'm always prepared. I couldn't wait to get to lunch and change into my nice comfy flats that I so wisely brought along. The food was AWESOME!! I had steak for lunch! One thing I love about being an extra is that they feed you well!! Being an extra is totally my gig, that is until of course I "make it". It was also really cool to see Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Hunter Parrish. Here's me in my gown (and 4 inch heels):

Yuck. I look like such a nerddd. Anywayz, a most eventful few months.

I'm going away to Kentucky for a week in July, and boy o boy. That itself is something to blog about 2morrow.

Location, Location.

First off, I would like to complain about this blog thing not having a decent shade of pink in it's font color choices. Cause this is the best they've got. And it sucks. Moving on.

I've changed my story idea for my short and it entails a new location. And the location I REALLY REALLY want has some issues. For the story that I want to do, I would need to be able to shoot in Deno's Wonder Wheel Park in Coney Island. However, it is closed and won't be open until April. My shoot is scheduled for March. So. To set it simply around Coney Island will mean a sacrifice in my original story. I am hoping that perhaps the Wonder Wheel area is open, its just the rides that arent. Gotta find that out. Then I thought, what about Rye Playland?! Closed too. Until May.

So, I have reverted back to where I had originally set the story, in the Bronx Zoo. I've written to the media relations person at the zoo, so I'll cross my fingers and you pray for me. I don't know how they handle these situations, so I made sure to make my letter sound super professional, meaning I used alot of big words and offered money :P ok, maybe not the second part, but I really hope they let me. Cause doing it anywhere else won't allow much freedom.

I have the day off tomorrow, yay!, and I most certainly will convince myself that I should do some Wii Fit. I NEED to lose weight. That picture of me at the beach- totally innacurate right now. I've gained 15 pounds! And admitting that here to the world is the first step I've gotta take to getting back in shape. Now that you all know, I gotta get rid of it, right??? Especially before I go Spring Breaking anywhere!

** Special shoutout to Abby who I think is the only person who reads my blog right now. Thanks Abby!! :) **

Film Fears

So. Today was my first production class. My crew is already awesome cause I'm working with two people I know. However, we have to shoot black and white and no sound. I'm not too bummed about that, but I did want to do dialogue. Anywayz, here's the kicker, which I know, duh, I should have seen coming. But...., we have to edit the old way. Meaning, no computer!!! I'm so scared. I'm so used to iMovie and I am terrified that I'm going to cut something wrong and the entire movie is ruined. Oh the pressure.

I know that by the next few weeks I'll be fine. And I know that I'm going to love this way of editing. But right this very second, I'm just really nervous. So other than that, class went well, and then I learned how much I'm going to have to shell out for film and processing. Oh fate, why. I am super, ultra, broke, (partly because I don't have a job) and I know I'll find the money somehow, but this means no super sizing at Mc Donalds for the next few months. :( And probably eating Cup of Noodles on a regular basis. Hmmmm...... That doesn't bother me so much. I LLOOOVVEE Cup of Noodles.

I know what my project is going to be about, and of course I will not share that here. But when it is complete, I will certainly post it for you guys to check out. Oh yeah, and another one of my loves: NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE!!!! I'm reading Macbeth and I actually know what's going on!!!! I'm really happy about that. Not so much enjoying the story tho. These guys are pretty dumb. Except King Duncan, so far, he's pretty cool.

I'll try to blog as much as I can during the shooting process, I think it'll be intresting for me to be able to look back at what we went through. And probably interesting for you guys to see what its like to shoot a short film. Anyway, my stomach is reminding me it's time to chow down.

Love, Peace, and Chicken Grease !

Philadelphia! The city of our founding fathers and no nightlife!

Aloha!

So I thought I'd share some of my Philly photos with you and for those of you who have seen them already, I'm going to share something unknown about each photo. First, I'll explain why I was in Philly,
cause it's not exactly the ideal vacation destination in the winter.

My bf Kane goes to this college theater festival called ACTF. A year ago I would have been thrilled, but I've lost my faith in theater (as an actress) which I'll also talk about another day, so as of now, I'm sticking to film. Anyway, so I agreed to go to this thing where you do workshops, see shows, and basically network. Our first day there, we had so much fun sightseeing, we decided to nix the workshops and just pay to go see shows. We ended up seeing one show, and exploring Philadelphia for the whole trip, which was FUN!! We did an abandoned prison tour, comic book shopping, record hunting, vintage clothes thrifting, and saw where Betsy Ross did her thing, among other stuff.

C-R-E-E-P-Y......and I LOVED it!!! This tour was sooooo my thing. I love old buildings and abandonded ones are a ++! I learned alot about Eastern State Penetentiray which was super cool. If you're into this stuff, google this place. We were allowed to walk to the second level which is where I took this pic. Earlier in the tour, we were even allowed to go in some of the cells! You can't tell from this pic, but it was FFRREEEZZIINNNGG!!! Me and Kane's hands were purple after the tour! We were so busy taking tons of pictures, I don't think we realized our hands were taking the toll. But they gave us hot choclate halfway through, so that def hepled. I know what you're wondering, did I see any ghosts?.......Yes! I saw a picture of a "ghost" that was supposedly "captured" on film there, but uh,... no. Not in person.

My face is smiling, but my butt is screaming I'm cold!! Either my jeans were too thin or that stone was that cold, but it stung! That's homegurrrl Betsy's house in the back.

We had to take this picture 4 times, meaning he made that face four times. And my camera is slow. So there's Kane, a few feet from the Liberty Bell, pretending to steal it's money. Plus whatever other tourists were watching us.

This was super random. We were walking back to the hotel when we saw this closed up store with "You Are Beautiful" on the window. There was no indication what kind of store it used to be, but we do know that they accepted credit cards. Note the bag of comics in my hand.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE bowling!! I had so much fun nearly beating Nando. Sadly, this bowling alley was cool but service sucked. Their hours said they were to close at 12am, but because it was "slow", they were going to close early. Say what???? They let us play one game of pool and bowling, but we couldn't order food and only got to order one round of drinks. Boo. Anywho, this picture captured my first strike of the game! Note my perfect form.

Smelliest sandwich EVER! It was a roast beef concoction that Kane ordered. As he put it, which is completely accurate, it smelled like farts in a jar. So on the money. I was not feeling good when we sat down to eat at the Reading Terminal Market, and this did not help.

ALL in all, it was an unlikely, great trip. I will admit I had my doubts that Philly would have been fun at all. I planned to look forward to the mall and that was going to be it. Despite the frigid weather, I had a blast exploring the city of no night life with Kane.

But, it would have been awesome if I saw Garfield and Sherry from Parking Wars! :D

My first bloggy blog!!!!!

WoOoOoOo hOoOoOoO!!! Come along for the ride! It's my first blog! I am really excited to do this, albeit being like, 100 years late. But yay! Now you guys will know lots of useless crap about me!

So. Um. I guess this is the part where I tell you about my day. Ok, so I woke up, um, played animal crossing, which rocked!!, uh........ I ate McDonalds, and then decided to create a blog. Phew. Busy day. Yea, yeah- boring. I'll get better.

So what's new with me? I recently became an Avon Rep! I will be selling makeup, skincare, fragrances, and all the other goodies Avon is so famous for. I quit my job at Old Navy cause it kinda sucked, which I will possibly divulge into in another blog. Avon is the easiest way for me to make extra money for stupid stuff like a metrocard and food, cause ya'll know how much I can eat. And how much eating is a dear hobby of mine. So Avon will NOT be paying for the dunks I wish I had or that Juicy bag that's oh so cute. This Avon business is strictly to survive aka eating.

I just came back from Philadelphia last week which was both fun and boring! Wow, how can a city manage to be both you ask? Well I'll tell you, Philadelphia is the city of no night life. GASP! Say it ain't so!! Yeah, after midnight, it was like a ghost town. So my craving for random food after midnight was fufilled by a WaWa. Their bars, bowling allys (sp? too lazy to check), and pool places were done and over with at the stroke of midnight. Lame. After sightseeing all day, there was no where to go out at 1 am, which is how we do it here in NYC. But all and all it was pretty cool. I'll post some pics and further discuss the partying we did at Independance Hall. It was hardcore man. George and Abe were there too.

So, my sisters came just came for our weekly sleepover where they drive me nuts until they fall asleep. Last time they were over, my dog ate a glow stick one of them left around. Not fun.
